We currently have an opportunity for a Revenue Tariff Accountant to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 – £45,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 
About the role
As our Tariff Lead, you will work closely with the team and wider business to deliver high-quality outputs in an accurate and timely manner and support in driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance across the team.
South West Water’s revenue (inc Bristol Water) is c.£0.8 billion per annum, with revenues primarily arising from water and sewage services. Our Revenue team is responsible for revenue reporting and analysis, the non household market, the £50 Government payment and the annual tariff setting process.
The revenue is generated through multiple streams, each with its own set of tariffs: Wholesale Charges (South West Water, Bournemouth Water & Bristol Water), Developer Services Charges, NAV Charges, Bulk Supplies

What you'll be doing:

  • Monitoring the Regulatory requirements and ensuring we are compliant and incorporate any changes as appropriate
  • Working with business teams to obtain and understand base data
  • Tariff modelling
  • Lead the business teams through the tariff modelling, approval and publication process (to Ofwat and all website publications)
  • Preparation of reports for internal control and assurance
  • Internal and External tariff assurance lead
  • Review and first line finance sign off for implementation of tariffs into billing systems
  • CCW and Ofwat data drafting
  • Annual Performance Report table completion (including methodology, commentary, and audit process)
  • Lead the annual upgrade of the tariff modelling systems
  • Work with the business to understand and implement new charging structures

What we are looking for:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a finance role
  • Experience within a similar role/industry is advantageous
  • Technically sound knowledge of Management Accounting (accruals/prepayments/journal processing)
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, lookup formulas SQL queries).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details
  • Modelling experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business to build key working relationships.
