We are seeking a Scientist or Senior Research Associate to join our Process Chemistry team. In this role, you will study the physiochemical properties of plant proteins with the aim of developing processes for their purification and formulation in new, better food products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
·      Develop novel processes for isolation and purification of proteins and other biomolecules from plant sources
·      Develop novel processes for isolation and purification of proteins and other biomolecules from plant sources
·      Characterize and quantify products using various physical and chemical techniques; evaluate process performance and product quality quantitatively against defined metrics
·      Design and execute experiments, analyze data, write technical reports, and share progress during weekly meetings
·      Prepare process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances
·      Design, specify, select, procure, operate, and maintain separations equipment and instrumentation as needed
·      Work with discovery, formulation, and process engineering teams to develop and scale-up novel products and processes
·      Work safely at all times

ATTRIBUTES
·      Ph.D. or M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field with 2-5 years of relevant process development experience
·      Fundamental and applied knowledge of bioseparations concepts and unit operations including chromatography, membrane filtration, and centrifugation
·      Experience in scale-up/scale-down of processes in pursuit of commercialization
·      Previous experience with food ingredients or product formulation is a plus
·      Strong analytical and problem solving skills
·      Excellent written and verbal communication
·      Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness to meet the needs of a fast growing company
