As a Senior Accountant at Helix you will be an integral part in managing and developing processes in a hyper-growth, pre-IPO environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and be able to work on all aspects of preparing auditable financial statements. You will be an early member of a growing team and will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  The Senior Accountant role gives the opportunity to develop a meaningful skillset and to continuously take on new challenges in an early hyper-growth phase.

The ideal candidate will have strong initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and drive the changes necessary to make the improvement.  The candidate should have a passion for excellence, a positive attitude and the energy and enthusiasm to get a job well done.  This is an outstanding opportunity to leverage your prior accounting experience to implement systems and processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections process
  • Assist in month-end activities including accruals and reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Be a main point of contact for the external Big-4 audit team and fulfill audit requests
  • Assist in the design and implementation of SOX compliant controls and procedures
  • Identify system and process improvement opportunities and drive the implementation
  • Develop a strong relationship with business groups across the Company to understand their needs and assist in solving problems

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite or other mid-market ERP system
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or auditing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience processing accounts payable
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership skills, high energy, initiative and creativity
