Senior Associate Scientist, Preclinical Development

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced preclinical scientist with a strong background in murine CNS administration procedures to help expand our therapeutic capabilities. We are seeking curious, enthusiastic, competent, and self-motivated individuals to work in our company. A willingness to embrace our cultural values will be critical for success in this role. Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with study design, protocol preparation, study execution (administration), in-life oversight, data collection, and report writing
  • Perform and support rodent study procedures in accordance with the IACUC, including administration of our novel nuclease via CNS routes, complete health observations, sample collections, and necropsies
  • Perform wet bench assays taking in vivo samples all the way through editing outcomes
  • Perform histological protocol development, sample preparation, and data collection to support programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely note keeping in our ELN system
  • Collaborate with multiple scientists across the preclinical group and company
  • Practice regulatory ready research while embracing the 3Rs (refine, replace and reduce)

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience or Masters degree in biological sciences with at least 2 years of experience or a closely related field
  • Must be able to follow Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee approved protocols
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CNS routes of injection (e.g. ICV, intraparenchymal), with experience in systematic injection routes a plus.
  • Demonstrated competency in CNS sample collection
  • Preferred experience in histology experimental methods (e.g. Cryostat, paraffin section, immunochemistry staining)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability in research data organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
