About the team: 

The Rubrik Commercial Legal Team is responsible for managing legal contracts and advice relating to all transactional revenue-based matters. The team is looking for an energetic, creative, talented and experienced contracts operations [specialist/manager] with a passion for streamlining and improving the revenue contracting process at Rubrik and for developing skills in negotiating contracts. This position reports to Rubrik’s Senior Contracts Manager and will be based in Rubrik’s HQ (Palo Alto, CA).

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Coordinate with different functions within Rubrik, including the Sales, Sales Ops, Support, Security, Compliance, Product Ops, Partner Programs, Finance and Accounting teams to streamline contracts workflow, with a goal to reduce time to revenue while driving consistency and adherence to Rubrik policies.
  • Become expert in, analyze, and proactively initiate improvements to Rubrik’s current internal systems and processes that touch contracting. Manage intake system to track, respond to, and report on contract and other requests from internal stakeholders, with an eye to improving workflows.
  • Shepherd negotiated contracts through the appropriate approval process and help maintain repository of contracts to track and address common requirements (dates, terms, fees, etc.).
  • Be familiar with and advise on new and emerging technologies and automation tools that can improve contracting and legal approval processes and reduce contracting cycle time.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to enable business colleagues to be more self-sufficient through the contracts process, including forms, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Have an interest in learning and developing contract drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Bring energy and passion to improving processes and enabling the Commercial Legal Team to scale to support a high-growth business.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.

Ideal background and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree plus certification in privacy, contracts management, or paralegal.  
  • 4-10 years of a combination of legal operations and contract management experience in high-growth business environments.
  • Proficiency with legal and business technologies, such as DocuSign, Microsoft Office, GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Salesforce.com, Box, and Adobe; and a passion for quantitative analyses and reporting.
  • Highly proactive, with a proven ability to manage projects and a strong attention to detail.
  • Inspires confidence and trust, with high integrity and transparency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Notary public qualification would be a plus.
  • A team player who is comfortable working closely with an enterprise sales organization and with a range of global colleagues across all company functions.
  • Demonstrated experience as a motivated contributor who can work independently with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Quick learner, with the ability to prioritize and manage business expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in enterprise software and/or IT businesses, with knowledge of SaaS and cloud-based service offerings a plus. 
  • Undaunted and fearless in embracing and managing change and proposing practical solutions in a high-growth business.
