Media.Monks is expanding with key Creative roles. We are looking for a well rounded, experienced Senior copywriter with a campaign background ready to get their hands dirty, concept, and pitch for one of our dedicated accounts. This is a role where you’ll partner with art directors, account managers, creative directors, strategists, PMs, and other writers on a wide range of deliverables. You should be able to craft anything from headlines to long format scripts, have experience writing in a variety of tones and genres and can quickly adapt the voice of a brand across all types of mediums, whether that be a paid social ad to a radio spot to a testimonial film.
You’re able to stay humble while showing off your creative thinking, and will help us maintain an environment that encourages expression, inclusivity, and collaboration. Our ideal candidate is a fast and flexible go-getter who jumps on new opportunities.
Senior Copywriters work under the guidance of an Associate Creative Director of Copy or a Creative Director to develop concepts and directions for creative ideas, campaigns, and executions. This key role will be working directly in a client facing team, building out strategic thought and creative ideas that will have a global reach. You will be part of building and defining a new breed of creative agency with some of the most innovative digital, social, technology and production expertise at your disposal.

The day-to-day role of a Senior Copywriter typically involves:

In this key role, you’ll help craft content for one of our biggest global clients.

You will develop concepts and copy for all kinds of creative assignments — this might include digital campaigns, videos, messaging guidelines, packaging and anything else you can dream up (that fits the brief).
- As part of our team, you’ll be collaborating with designers, other copy leads, animators, as well as with PMs, operations managers and a lot more talented Monks from all over the world.

You go above and beyond the original brief to push what’s possible at a creative level, even under tight deadlines.

You will oversee copy for all projects in production, working with the team to verbalize ideas, iron out concepts, solve creative issues through words, and nail the copy.

You work with our Associate Creative Director, Copy to help to make sure all work is conceptually in line with the campaign’s objectives and client expectations.

Requirements
- You have your finger on the pulse of creative cultures, trends, and technologies.
- You are bi-lingual and have experience working in the US Hispanic Market.
- Several years of Copywriting experience within Advertising and Marketing is required.
- You’re experienced in developing copy-based concepts with clever tag lines and other creative copy.
- You can craft amazing copy out of thin air, based on briefs, and from drafts written by others.
- You combine creative writing with critical thinking; your analytical approach enables you to ask the right questions and waterproof ideas from a conceptual perspective.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work across multiple formats (Digital, Video, Social, etc.) is required.
- You can always make a case for your copy, rationalizing your choices and considerations to win people over with your words.
- Experience crafting brand voice, tone, and style guides ensuring consistent language across multiple touchpoints.
- Your writing is clear and compelling at the same time: convincing without cheesy puns or esoteric language (the cognoscenti have no need for grandiloquence).
- You combine creativity with critical thinking; your analytical approach enables you to ask the right questions and make sense of content and sales strategies.
- You are an incredibly detail-oriented and organized person who never misses an Oxford comma.
- You adapt quickly and compromise with others without compromising our voice and integrity.
- You have a proven ability to tackle the same topic from a variety of angles and can produce alts for internal reviews and A/B tests like ABC.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must.
- You’re comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Our CDs can rely on you to run the creative parts of a pitch or project independently.
- You can communicate concepts clearly through mocks and decks when pitching work to stakeholders and directors.
- You’re comfortable jumping in and out at any stage of a project—from first ideas to final words—always delivering tight work, even under tight deadlines.
- You have a great sense of personal responsibility and eagerly go the extra mile if that’s what it takes to make good great.
- You know how to maintain a positive vibe and can inspire those around you with your work and attitude.
