How you will spend your time as our next Senior Data Architect – based in Bangalore, India.

The Senior Data Architect will be a part of the Integration and Data Solutions team responsible for the systems architecture, design and development of the data management systems including the enterprise data marketplace, operational data stores and data flows/pipeline. The position will play a key role in establishing the technical vision and providing breakthrough technical approaches in solving data challenges that help enable Qlik’s business. We are looking for a dynamic senior technologist that is action oriented, results driven, a curious learner and thrives in environment where they are given the freedom to be creative and solve complex issues. The position involves close co-operation with the Scrum teams as well as the business functions within the Qlik organization. Core duties include:

  • Design and implement architecture for enterprise data marketplace leveraging AWS services, Qlik Data Catalyst and other technologies. This includes:
    • data platform components to ingest data and events from SaaS applications, social media and other external and internal data sources,
    • automated pipelines and data services to validate, catalog, aggregate and transform ingested data
    • automated data delivery pipelines and services to integrate data from the data marketplace to internal and external consuming applications and services
  • Design and implement data archiving strategy.
  • Be the technical authority to deliver complex data projects as a technical lead overseeing a cross geography core team.
  • Develop "thought leadership" and "point-of-view” content that inspire future evolutions of data management systems
  • Participate in conversations with business functions offering subject matter expertise in representing current data solutions while offering breakthrough vision for the future.
  • Influence design of business data management systems roadmap applying significant knowledge of industry trends.
  • Offer approaches to breakdown technical work to sub- pieces that can be executed by a broader team.
  • Develop and maintain standards for administration and operation of data management systems,
  • Configure, support and maintain data management systems.
  • Perform daily systems monitoring of critical data services as necessary
  • Establish and enforce guidelines to ensure consistency, quality and completeness of data assets 



  • You will be successful if you have
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent engineering degree is required.
  • 12+ years in IT (or 8+ required with a master’s or PhD degree) with emphasis on data management.
  • 6+ years of hands on experience architecting and implementing enterprise data lake and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Extensive experience with the following AWS services: Redshift, RDS, EMR, S3, SQS, Dynamo DB, Lambda, Athena and EC2 (certification preferred).
  • Hands on experience using Hadoop-based data technologies like HDFS, MapReduce, HIVE, YARN, Spark, and Scala/Java/Python.
  • Experience with SQL RDBMS and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB 
  • Experience with ETL and streaming technologies
  • Programming experience in Scala, Java, Python or GO
  • Self-motivated to experiment with new technology to continuously challenge the norm
  • Experience in a complex enterprise application environment with integrations and customizations to support multiple business processes.
  • Strong customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills with both highly technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to write and communicate detailed documentation (project specifications, requirements, and plans), for both technical and non-technical audiences.
