This position
This role is to be filled by a “full stack” DBA as it involves management, security, backups and availability of the clusters hosting the data produced and consumed by our products. ETL development, automation and maintenance are a good part of the position.

This position is an Individual Contributor and reports to the Technical Operations Manager.


  • Assist in daily administration activities including setup, configuration and monitoring of database clusters to ensure backups, availability, performance, integrity and security
  • Monitor and work the JIRA ticket queue for request to make configuration changes, security changes and execute scripts against the database clusters
  • Assist the Development and Support teams to triage database issues and follow the escalation path if needed
  • Trouble shooting and on-call production support for database clusters
  • Execute root cause analysis and recommendations
  • Execute load testing and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, integrity and performance
  • Execute database tuning plans to ensure optimal performance
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Database Continuous Deployment based on Source Control
  • Test Driven Development for Integration Testing
  • Planning and development of database architecture, documentation and scripting
  • Database user/role Management
  • Data warehousing Management
  • ETL architecture, development and maintenance
  • Produce reports on demand or via BI Tool


Basic Qualifications

• Hands-on experience working with Cloud Providers (GCP a distinct advantage)
• Demonstrated high proficiency in RDBMS technologies (PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL preferred)
• Unix/Linux general administration skills and bash scripting
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing Methodologies and Tools (Snowflake preferred)
• Strong analytical skills to produce Database reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL Tools such as pgAudit, pgBouncer, pgBackRest, pgMonitor and pgBadger and pgCrypto
• Familiarity with programming languages (Java and Groovy preferred)
• Familiarity with Agile Methodology
• Familiarity with Continuous Deployment Tools such as: Liquibase, DBMaintain, Jenkins, Maven
• Prior experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence Tools such as Gainsight, Sisense or Qlik
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant certification
• Quality control skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with different deadlines.
• Initiative, detail oriented, self-motivated and uses sound judgment.
• A team player who works well with others.
• Desire to learn and improve your skills.
