Senior Drupal Developer - Contractor

We are looking for an exceptionally awesome Senior Drupal Developer Contractor.

Timeframe: Hours will flex between 10-15 hours per week. This opportunity would include as-needed on-call support, so the contractor would need to be able to make themselves available between 9 AM and 4 PM Pacific Time Zone.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage Drupal CMS, ensuring site updates and backend updates are executed seamlessly.
  • Work closely with account managers and web project managers to complete tasks in Asana and provide daily status updates.
  • Scope out development initiatives as work requests come in including hours, dependencies and technical considerations to be prioritized with the Client and put against a timeline based on bandwidth
  • Attend internal team meetings and client meetings as necessary to explain and guide projects through technical challenges, issues, and other development-related considerations 
  • Manage deployment on a weekly basis, maintain push logs, and keep the team updated. 
  • Ensure a high degree of site uptime and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site loading delays, UX bugs, and other technical issues.
  • Offer and integrate technical team feedback into deliverables or tasks.
  • Communicate directly with Acquia support when needed.
  • Provide feedback on development processes and offer best practices for site hosting and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other development team members to maintain a high degree of site uptime.
  • Develop and build pipelines for modern websites using tools like Grunt/Gulp, Continuous Integration, and GitHub.

Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Drupal 10 and its ecosystem.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Experience with Acquia hosting and versioning.
  • Experience with New Relic for performance monitoring.
  • Deep knowledge of Drupal implementation best practices.
  • Strong front-end and back-end development skills.
  • Experience with site building, theming, and module development in Drupal.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Expert-level knowledge of debugging web pages using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Bootstrap 4, WordPress theme development, and plugin architecture/building.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing Advanced Custom Fields, specifically with flexible content.
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS and LESS.
  • Deep understanding of best practices and utilization of REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with managed hosting platforms like WP Engine and Pantheon, and self-managed hosting options like AWS and Google Cloud.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years of Drupal experience (required).
  • 2+ years of Vue.js experience (preferred).
  • 5+ years of developing PHP/MySQL/JavaScript-based websites (required).
  • 5+ years of developing large WordPress websites (required).
  • Experience with other PHP and MySQL-based platforms is a plus.
  • Experience working with debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with integration approaches between Marketo and Drupal/Wordpress.  
  • Knowledge of HubSpot CMS is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and possess creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly responsive and able to work independently.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a remote team environment
