Senior Engineer

** Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance. **

Pacific Defense is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Engineering Research & Development team. Pacific Defense specializes in developing innovative solutions incorporating state-of-the-art capabilities for the US DoD. Our high-performance systems are used in applications such as Battle Management Command and Control, Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence and Secure Digital Communications. In this role, you will work with a small, elite team of highly dedicated engineers and scientists to apply cutting-edge algorithms to real-world problems. We are seeking candidates with proven abilities in developing innovative solutions who are particularly interested in working on state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare capabilities to meet United States Dept of Defense (DoD) needs.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• Exceptional software development skills.
• Strong academic training in Computer Science fundamentals.
• Stellar communication skills (both technical details and high-level conceptual ideas).
• Enjoys collaborating with small and dedicated development teams.
• US Citizen with qualification to obtain a DoD security clearance.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

• Experience in software development using C, C++, or C#.
• In-depth knowledge of Java; experience with Kotlin, JavaScript, Python, Swift or C++ is a bonus.
• Knowledge of modern development practices (Agile, object-oriented programming, test-driven development, microservices).
• Experience with web application development.
• Experience with REST, Java servlet applications, and database technologies (particularly MySQL).

• Design and integrate software modules and components.
• Rapidly prototype testbeds to support development.
• Implement, test, and maintain customer-facing applications.
• Participate in Agile planning and development of new features and system maintenance.

Education

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other technical degree. MS preferred.
