About the Role: 

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, this highly visible position requires an individual who has the capability of supporting a dynamically evolving organization and possesses superior technical and analytical skills.  The position also requires strong communication capabilities and the need to interface at all levels of the organization.  This role has a hybrid schedule with one to two days in the Boston office.

Responsibilities:  

  • Provide financial analysis and analytical support on a variety of planned, proposed, and actual business issues, including development of cost, margin and ROI templates for new products and business lines.  
  • Support transactions such as equity/debt financings, mergers and acquisitions and complex business arrangements.  
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management on the financial results and operating cash flows of each business segment in areas of critical operational business metrics and present the data in a real time flash report or dashboard.  
  • Develop models which support the annual strategic plan/budget process and the quarterly forecast updates, including the financial impact of key trends and alternatives and the translation of ideas into costs and profit.  
  • Analyze trends in key performance indicators, and performance vs. peer/ industry benchmarks, identifying and communicating key business risks and opportunities.  
  • Partner with the sales and other operating departments to determine the extent, if any, of changes to assumptions driving the operating plan.  
  • Ad hoc reporting and presentations of analysis information to all levels of management. 

Requirements:  

  • 5+ years of progressive financial analysis experience; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.  
  • Experience in financial modeling, statistical trend analysis and profitability analysis with MS Excel and MS Access; Knowledge of more advanced database tools and Sequel is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to report on complex financial transitions.
  • Expert use of MS PowerPoint as a means of presenting information.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • SaaS / AI & ML business, and knowledge about insurance space is a plus
