Senior Frontend Engineer, Creator Tools

We’re leaders in the membership space with 250,000+ active creators and over $3.5 billion paid directly to creators on our platform. Our team is building tools that expand the capabilities of Patreon creators, including new communication tools, expanded abilities for commerce and products that allow creators to better express themselves and share their work. We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the most talented team in the Creator Economy and are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer for our Creator Tools team to support our mission.

This role is based in New York City and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Role

  • Play a leadership role in building products that maximize the reach and ROI of Patreon creators
  • Engineer tools with high craft that balance simplicity and power
  • Synthesize feedback from user research, interviews, market insights and trends to build components that solve our users’ most immediate problems
  • Employ an iterative approach to development with a focus on shipping evolutionary releases that culminate in revolutionary products
  • Advocate for best patterns and practices in the areas of system design, performance, and testing
  • Drive clarity and alignment on technical vision and direction
  • Work hand in hand with cross-functional partners to refine and deliver new features
  • Advocate for engineering systems and solutions that will accelerate product development in the long-run

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • Holds a high standard of quality and craft with an eye for UX and engineering detail
  • Comfortable with project leadership, including scoping, architecture and modeling, process refinement and delegation of responsibilities
  • In depth knowledge of Typescript/Javascript
  • Experience with React, Node.js and Yarn/NPM - Next.js experience a plus
  • Good knowledge and understanding of modern web technologies, specifically REST
  • Experience tuning build tools like Webpack, Babel, and CircleCI to make you and your teammates more efficient
  • Preference for practicality over dogmatism
