Senior Frontend Engineer

Our leading-edge Scrum team in the engineering group is looking for a passionate hands-on Senior Frontend Engineer who truly cares about web standards and customer experience. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you must be proficient in modern web technologies, and embrace a fast-paced dynamic environment. You’ll be working closely with the engineering leads, product and design teams, as well as other developers and QAs to deliver projects with scalable, robust and highly performing architecture solutions. Our ideal candidate would be self-motivated, passionate and always looking for new ways to improve. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions 
  • Translate product requirements into technical solutions through design discussions 
  • Initiate or contribute to frontend architecture and design improvements 
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools or engineering best practices 
  • Document architecture and design, including flow diagrams 
  • Write clean code with plenty of unit and integration tests 
  • Troubleshoot issues, including those related to performance and scalability 
  • Collaborate with other developers and QAs from multiple teams as needed 
  • Support your deliverables in production 
  • Mentor other developers 
  • Adopt Agile process 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's in computer science or related majors is required 
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on frontend 
  • Professional experience designing and building complex applications and rich interfaces 
  • Proficient in Angular 8+ (Typescript) and unit testing technologies such as Jasmine and Karma 
  • Proficient in various web related technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, as well as framework and tools such as Google Tag Manager, Segment, LaunchDarkly, performance monitoring 
  • Experienced in at least one development tool, such as Webstorm, IntelliJ, and Visual Studio Code 
  • Must have experience in developing responsive websites supporting localization 
  • Familiar with REST web services and integration 
  • Familiar with code versioning tools such as Github 
  • Familiar with build pipeline such as Jenkins 
  • Familiar with Scrum methodology 
  • Great communication skills and team player 
  • Have experience leading other frontend developers is a plus

(Colorado Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible base compensation for this role, if hired in Colorado, to be within the following range: 130K - 160K
