About the role

In this role, you will be hands-on working within Data Science, ML, and LLMs. Your primary responsibility will be to evangelize these fundamentals across the company by engaging in technical discussions with engineering and business partners. You will contribute to innovation by bringing new ideas to the table and addressing challenging and unsolved problems. As a crucial part of the team, you will contribute to the growth of yourself and others through mentorship. Your focus will include modernizing ML infrastructure, creating new patterns for deploying AI solutions, scaling machine learning capabilities, and integrating math-based features into our product, all while working with smart and collaborative colleagues.

  • Design, develop, and deploy ML algorithms and models, focusing on continuous improvement and integration.
  • Partner with data scientists to transform prototypes into high-performance production models.
  • Overhaul and upgrade the existing data science platform to ensure it's scalable, efficient, and up-to-date.
  • Utilize GCP tools, notably VertexAI and BigQuery, for deploying, monitoring, and scaling ML models.
  • Ensure the machine learning solutions are cloud-compatible and optimized for performance.
  • Apply knowledge of generative AI techniques to develop innovative solutions and features.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in generative AI and incorporate relevant ones into our platform.
  • Work closely with application engineers to integrate ML functionalities into apps and ensure seamless deployment of ML code in a production environment.
  • Implement best practices for version control, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Design and implement complex big data ETLs to drive core functionalities of our products.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities for our data products.
  • Implement responsible AI practices in every feature, including end-to-end observability.

  • Hands on experience building and deploying production-level code for SaaS.
  • You are an expert with Docker, Kubernetes, and scaling machine learning solutions.
  • Professional experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or a related role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python and software development best practice.
  • Extensive knowledge of GCP tools, especially VertexAI and BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of the complete machine learning development lifecycle.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bonus: experience building statistical models and deep understanding of math.
  • Bonus: experience in the HR tech space.
  • Bonus: experience deploying generative AI in a production environment.

  • 💰 Competitive Compensation. For this role our salary is targeted at $151,000 -$177,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience and expertise. We take a geo neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.

Below you'll find an outline of the interview plan for our Senior Machine Learning Engineer position. Please note that this is what we expect the process to look like; we may ask you for supplemental information or require an additional step before making a final decision.

  • 30 min interview with a member of our Talent Team
  • 30 minute zoom interview with the Hiring Manager
  • Two video interviews with Data Science & Product Management - 1.25 hours
  • A take-home assignment (This replaces live coding in further interviews)
  • A video interview with Engineers - 1 hour
