Senior Manager, Carrier Strategy

The Logistics organization develops and manages the execution of the operational strategy for all Wayfair geographies (US, Europe, & Canada) and brands (Wayfair, AllModern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane, and Castlegate Fulfillment).  

We are looking for a senior leader to join the Small Parcel team within Carrier Strategy to drive critical projects that promote efficiency in and growth of our supply chain network. The role has broad visibility within the company and is an opportunity to learn about many areas of the business. The right candidate has strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as the ability to effectively build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Candidates should also have a collaborative leadership style and a demonstrated ability to drive results in partnership with other teams at Wayfair. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Build supply chain capabilities to handle various customer experience initiatives and optimize cost and speed with 3rd party carriers for the small parcel network
  • Analysis of partner carriers capability and capacity to deliver Wayfair products
  • Identifying and executing on opportunities to increase carrier shipping speed and functionality, supporting and driving Wayfair’s growth.

Strategic Projects could include:

  • Grow Wayfair’s international presence, executing on supply chain initiatives in new geographies
  • Drive topline growth through collaboration with internal teams to expand the current US product assortment into new regions\
  • Build relationships with 3rd party carriers to optimize cost and speed of product delivery globally 

Key Skills and Experience:
 • MBA/MS ideal, with at least 3 years of relevant experience 
 • Strong leadership ability. A hands-on team player that can inspire/mentor staff members. 
 • Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication and influence. Relentless about following up until the job is done. 
 • Strong quantitative and problem solving skills. Able to analyze large sets of data, pull out insights and then proactively communicate those insights to senior leaders. Able to grasp complex issues and look beyond the obvious. 
 • Superior interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to work successfully within and across teams. Able to build relationships at all levels in the organization. 
 • Self-motivated and proactive. Makes sound business decisions even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities. 
 • Extensive experience working with Excel is required, SQL is a plus.
