The overall purpose of the role is to:
Act as the manufacturing interface between US and China office
Assure deliverables within US car programs in project phase for manufacturing
Cross functional leadership and work with manufacturing engineering to drive improvements
Escalate manufacturing issues to Manufacturing Management team, and to vehicle program
This position reports to Senior Director, Manufacturing Program
Drives the assignment from program start to program finish according to car development timing plan
Performs manufacturing feasibility studies and sign off process
Secures product and process compatibility for the program, including the implementation of established process strategies
Develops and assures Facilities, Tooling & Equipment for the program, and assures compliance for Facilities & Tooling budget items
Plans and coordinates the preparation work in the plant before building the production process
Plans, coordinates, installs, implements and verifies the new production process including tools, facilities and application programs
Coordinates and follows-up all product and production problems arising during launch periods; identification of solutions, establishment of temporary measures where necessary and recommendations of further actions to guarantee final resolution.
University degree in engineering or equivalent.
Project management skills and car launch experience
Broad Competence within Manufacturing Engineering and/or production. 10+ working experience on manufacturing area, such as stamping/body/painting/final assembly. Experience on Aluminum Body shop is preferred
Excellent communication and documentation skills. Cross cultural leadership
Fluent in oral and written English
Willing travel between US and China Office
