About the Team

The DoorDash New Business Development team is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for incubating new lines of business and graduating them to scale. Current areas of focus include partnerships in new verticals and in support of new lines of business, including DoorDash Drive, DoorDash Capital, and DoorDash Kitchens among others. The team’s primary functions are revenue generating and product-enabling partnerships, but it also touches strategy, product management, marketing, operations, finance, legal, and other functions necessary to vet and scale new offerings and partner segments.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager of New Business Development you will work in close collaboration with the New Ventures team to develop partnerships that unlock net new service offerings for DoorDash’s extensive merchant base (e.g., financing, supplier management, expansion, labor management, etc.), and enhance DoorDash’s value proposition as a platform that enables local merchants to thrive.

  • Lead exploratory discussions with prospective partners to determine market fit, size, and readiness for new lines of business or strategic partnerships.
  • Shape roadmap and go-to-market strategies based on market feedback
  • Negotiate first-of-a-kind partnerships, including deal economics
  • Work cross-functionally and serve as the liaison between our partners and DoorDash leadership, product management, legal, operations, and other functional teams
  • Develop pitch and positioning for new lines of business or partner segments
  • Develop and manage pipelines of target partners
  • Manage and grow existing partnerships
  • Inform goals for growth and revenue (and its proxies); and advise on associated business resource needs
  • Inform go/no-go and prioritization decisions on new businesses

Qualifications:

  • You have 8+ years experience in early stage business development or strategic partnerships at the intersection of technology and the food service industry
  • You have sourced and negotiated numerous first-of-a-kind deals and partnerships
  • You have extensive experience defining business cases and go-to-market strategies
  • You have extensive cross-functional experience
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, MBA or JD preferred

Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, the base salary range in Colorado for this position is $148,320 - $222,480, plus opportunities for equity and commission. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
