About The Opportunity

The Global Real Estate Finance team is responsible for the financial management, underwriting and supervision of WeWork’s global real estate portfolio. The team focuses on building a center of excellence around asset underwriting standards, management and supervision of WeWork’s global real estate investment committee, deal underwriting, cross functional strategic initiatives, and global portfolio & pipeline reporting to enable the execution of our long term asset strategy.  

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Finance Generalist who will work closely with the Head of Real Estate Finance to oversee the real estate decision making process, engage in strategic initiatives through pipeline management, financial analysis, and real estate analytics. As the Senior Manager, this role requires a deep understanding of real estate and finance fundamentals.  You will be critical in ensuring that the company makes financially accretive real estate decisions, on a global scale, whilst delivering key insights to senior executives for decision making. 

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee junior professionals performing deal underwriting and other financial modeling analyses for large, strategic real estate transactions
  • Lead the financial reporting framework by which the Real Estate Finance team monitors transactions within the Firm’s global portfolio
  • Improve and manage the auditing and review process for deals submitted to the global real estate investment committee prior to executive review
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for C-Suite executives surfacing insightful analytics around the global real estate portfolio
  • Liaison with landlords to respond to due diligence questions on asset level performance and KPIs
  • Network with industry professionals, landlords, brokers, and other industry professionals to stay informed of industry and market trends to maximize portfolio and deal quality
  • Manage ad hoc projects and analyses to support management and business decisions
  • Craft compelling presentations and memos to deliver key insights on strategic company initiatives
  • Mentor and motivate a high performing team to consistently deliver value-add work product

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or other course of study from an accredited academic institution; Masters Degree in Finance, Economics, or Real Estate; CFA charter holder is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in real estate (real estate finance, asset management, or corporate real estate) or professional services (investment banking / management consulting)
  • Expert capabilities in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a must
  • Extensive experience in financial modeling, analysis and data aggregation  
  • Managerial experience and the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff and create a high performance team environment
  • Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Teamwork, cooperation, and ability to take direction
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and improve processes and organizational design
  • Reliable, focused, and detail-oriented with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Operate with high degree of tact and diplomacy; Client service orientation  
  • Experience underwriting and structuring management agreements for office and/or hotel assets is highly desirable
  • Argus Enterprise experience desired but not mandatory
  • Commercial real estate transaction experience is a plus
