Senior Marketing Manager

OpenTable is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to define and lead our customer communication and engagement strategies, primarily using email, but also direct mail, social, and microsites.  In this role, you will work very closely with stakeholders throughout the company, at all levels, to define our communication strategy and then execute on it.  Working closely with other members of the Restaurant Marketing team, and cross-functionally with our Sales, Product, and Creative teams, you will be responsible for creating segmented nurture strategies for restaurants of all types and sizes, in the US and globally.


  • Oversee efforts to develop and implement segmented customer nurture and editorial calendar strategy.
  • Develop customer nurture strategies that reflect an understanding of customer needs and intent.
  • Effectively leverage our marketing automation platform, Marketo, to manage campaigns.
  • Optimize engagement and conversion rates through a continuous test and learn program.
  • Work in lockstep with product marketing managers for product-related communications, gaining and measuring feature adoption and engagement.
  • Work very closely with our internal creative resources, ensuring that your strategic vision and goals are clearly represented in the content they create.
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting that details the performance of current programs and how they are tracking towards goals.
  • Support complex sales processes with a deep understanding of how Sales and Marketing work together to promote our suite of products.
  • Integrate online with offline channels when applicable, to expand the reach and impact of your campaigns.


  • 7+ years of marketing experience with 5+ years focused on campaign management and email nurturing
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with marketing automation software (Eloqua, Marketo, etc).
  • Passionate about data, with strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Extensive knowledge of customer journeys, nurture campaigns, and segmented communication strategies
  • Experience managing large projects consisting of cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with ability to seek out opportunities, create an action plan and see it through to fruition
  • In-depth knowledge of email best practices to increase deliverability, engagement, and conversions
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and edit and write copy
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Marketing to small businessowners a plus
  • BA/BS in marketing or related field
