Senior Motion Designer

About the role:

OLIVER is hiring a Senior Motion Designer to join our Corporate Studio supporting our client, Manulife, in Toronto.

As a Senior Motion Designer, you will be working closely with communications and brand teams turning concepts into assets across various marketing campaigns from digital to video. As an ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in graphic design, illustration, animation and motion design.

What you will be doing: 

  • Design digital graphic assets for marketing campaigns, including but not limited to video assets, emails, web banners, logos, illustrations, and Facebook ads
  • Estimate project work effort and time requirements
  • Conceptualize designs by creating rough layouts of art and copy, keeping in mind arrangement, size, typography, and brand aesthetics
  • Collaborate with team members to refine designs
  • Translate concepts from the Comms and Brand teams into tangible assets
  • Manage a spectrum of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
  • Ensure the brand's voice is visually consistent and compelling across various campaigns

What you need to be great: 

  • 5+ years of experience in motion, animation and graphic design, preferably in-house or in an agency environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Proficiency in layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography for both print and web
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects)
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of creative projects (mandatory for consideration)
  • Experience in fast-paced environments
  • Outstanding organizational abilities
  • A team player mindset
  • A creative mind and a strong visual imagination
  • An eye for detail and good colour vision
  • Strong illustration or animation skills with the ability to draw and make models
