About the role: 

OLIVER is hiring a Senior Multimedia Editor to join our Corporate Studio supporting our client, Manulife, in Toronto.

As a Senior Multimedia Editor, you will be responsible for producing, shooting, and editing high-quality video content for use across an array of internal and external communications platforms. You will use your strong passion for storytelling to ideate, capture, and edit engaging content for a wide range of global communication needs, including content featuring Manulife’s Global CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members, sizzle reels and hype videos for use during live events, and social media assets for use on Corporate and Executive channels. With a thorough understanding of how video presents communications opportunities, this role will work closely with designers, global video producers, and writers to create unique content for internal and external viewing. You will work directly with the Global Communications team and must be highly collaborative, excel in a fast-paced environment, and be able to work independently and collaboratively.

What you will be doing: 

  • Review creative briefs, develop storyboards, plan for production, and lead/assist on a variety of video shoots
  • Edit content for all Manulife segments and lines of business, including Office of the CEO, internal communications, external communications, social media, and global colleague events
  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished videos that align with the client's marketing goals and brand guidelines
  • Use your creative skills to enhance the visual appeal and storytelling elements of each video
  • Add graphics, animations, effects, and transitions to create visually appealing videos that are both informative and entertaining
  • Ensure that videos meet technical requirements and are optimized for various digital platforms
  • Create technically sound edits while ensuring you deliver content in a timely manner
  • Work with 5.1 audio
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
  • Review and analyze final videos to ensure they meet the agency's quality standards, brand consistency, and technical specifications
  • Liaise with Executive management and collaborate with the Producer and Creative team including Graphic Designers, Copywriters, and Marketing Strategists, to develop video concepts and execute them effectively
  • Source and maintain the in-house studio programs and equipment, ensuring video production is efficient and meets quality expectations
  • Develop and shoot Global B-roll of our office environment, colleague engagement, and special events to showcase our winning team and culture

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • 5+ years of experience independently producing, shooting, and editing videos
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Proficiency using editing software packages or similar (e.g. Avid, GrassValley, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro X)
  • Strong understanding of technical standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and find creative solutions for editorial and pipeline issues
  • Creative mind, strong storytelling skills and a passion for content
  • Strong understanding of workflows and the ability to adapt to new workflows
  • Ability to work independently, and aptitude to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • A passion for working with others and thinking of the team first
  • A natural curiosity and drive to succeed
  • A strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how to communicate that narrative across multiple platforms
  • Training and experience in how to tell a story using words, images, or audio and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience
  • Ability to demonstrate the personal and emotional impact of our work
  • Nimble, can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete them accurately and on schedule
