CampusWorks is always looking for experienced higher education professionals to join our team.
We are looking for professionals with 10+ years of experience in one or more of the functional areas listed below. Working, hands-on knowledge with an ERP system is preferred (Banner®, Workday®, Colleague®, Anthology®, Jenzabar®, or Oracle® ERP systems). These are remote positions with a varying degree of onsite presence required at our college/university client sites. The positions can be project-based (process improvement, software optimization, assessments) and/or staff augmentation (interim leadership) roles. These roles can be full-time roles or contract consultant (1099) roles. Please specify your preference in the application.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for leveraging your extensive hands-on knowledge and experience to assess, design, configure, implement, support, and troubleshoot various components of enterprise-level infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, networks, wireless systems, cloud technologies, and security measures. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of these critical infrastructure elements.
Responsibilities:
· Plan, design, assess, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the operational health of the highly available higher education network infrastructure.
· Developing scalable and maintainable solutions that meet business requirements.
· Provide a higher level of escalation support to networking and help desk staff.
· Design, Install, configure, and support networking and security equipment from a wide range of industry-leading vendors, including but not limited to Cisco, Extreme, Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
· Interface with multiple departments as the subject matter expert resource to assess, recommend, project plan, and implement technology solutions in support of business initiatives.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to network and application performance and availability, network connectivity, and security.
· Proactively monitor and report on network-related technology service performance and take action to correct deficiencies in monitoring and performance to control the quality of individual network services.
· Create and maintain technical documentation including integrations, architectural diagrams, operational procedures, knowledge base documents, disaster recovery plans, IP address management, and training documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
· 5-7 years of systems and/or network engineering experience.
· Experience working in a higher education or large enterprise environment.
· Expert-level experience configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches such as Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.
· Firewall experience.
· VPN management experience.
· Extensive wireless experience supporting Cisco, Cisco Meraki, or other wireless technologies.
· Ability to lift to 50 pounds during installations or configurations.
· Experience with VMware/vCenter and enterprise storage. VMware configuration, ability to create new virtual machines, manage ESXi clusters and troubleshoot.
· Windows and Linux operating system experience
· Solid understanding of enterprise-grade storage solutions such as HP Lefthand, Dell EqualLogic, VXRail, Compellent, etc.
· Developing and implementing cybersecurity measures and remediation strategies.
· Demonstrable experience troubleshooting bandwidth utilization alarms and recommending solutions.
· Cisco VoIP configuration, management, troubleshooting, and integration.
· Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
· Demonstrate a customer service-oriented attitude, work well under pressure, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Must have the ability to create precise and accurate documentation.
