Let's talk about the role and the Team:

As part of the continuous growth within Cyara globally, we're looking to add a new Senior NOC Engineer as part of the existing team in the USA.  This role will sit within the Cyara CloudOps team and will be responsible for monitoring Cyara’s global SaaS platform and working closely with our Support /Customer Response team to ensure our uptime commitments are maintained. Ideally you'll have a strong background in an NOC or an SOC.  The role is also responsible for upgrading platforms, diagnosing reported issues, and working with various internal teams to resolve them.  The role can be based in either Texas or Reno, Nevada.


Let's talk about the role and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a high quality of service and customer focus is maintained at all  times
  • Monitor Cyara systems and networks to proactively identify and address  potential issues
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the system
  • Respond to high-level business-critical issues to ensure continuity of service  within agreed SLA’s
  • Automate tasks to minimize downtime, and improve consistency
  • Work on a 24x7 rotation basis - other teams are based in India
  • Identify, document, and implement ways of improving monitoring of the  platform
  • Manage security, system capacity, configuration, and upgrades


Let’s talk about your skills/expertise: 

We're looking for a seasoned professional who's worked within a Network Operations Centre (NOC) and/or Security Operations Centre (SOC) - your other skills will include: 

  • At least 3-5 yrs experience with Incident, Change, and Problem Management process within a SOC or NOC environment
  • Expertise with TCP/IP network traffic and event logs analysis
  • Strong experience analyzing network traces (eg: Wireshark)
  • Familiarity with network terminologies (eg. DNS, DHCP, SMTP, BGP, Routes, Switches)
  • Experience investigating, documenting, and reporting on information security issues and emerging trends
  • Strong experience with VoIP protocols(SIP, H.323)
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Exposure to Terraform, Packer, or Chef
  • Experience working with log aggregation tools such as Sumologic or Splunk and monitoring tools
  • Experience working with Telecommunication Carriers generally from a ticket logging and troubleshooting perspective and experience putting together RCAs for incident management
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server, MSSQL and Linux
  • This is a customer facing role (phone based mainly) so your must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with your teams - for handover in different time zones where applicable


Nice to have (or you are keen to learn):

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in management of IDS/IPS, Firewall, VPN, and other security products
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the management of SBCs
  • Knowledge working with IVR / Contact Center products (eg. Avaya, Cisco, Genesys)
