Senior People Partner

As a Senior People Partner (HRBP) at OakNorth, you will be a key partner in ensuring the success of the business by establishing and implementing a full spectrum of people-related solutions that drive business outcomes.  This is both a strategic and hands-on role where you will interface with global counterparts and all levels of cross-functional stakeholders throughout the firm to improve how we develop, engage, and organise OakNorthers.  You will be a champion of OakNorth’s culture and values, partnering with our leaders to help them build their organisations and solve work. 


  • Design and implement strategic people-related solutions that drive business outcomes
  • Partner with and coach managers and team leaders in driving high performance and ensuring that our teams are working on what moves the needle most for the business 
  • Manage the end to end employee life cycle from contract negotiation and onboarding through to benefits, compensation, training and development, performance, and exit
  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations including grievances, disciplinaries, absences, retirement and redundancy
  • Own and continuously improve / zero-base People Operations processes, interfacing with third parties on areas such as visas, payroll, and benefits as needed
  • Gather and evaluate market data to measure the organisation’s competitiveness for compensation and benefits packages
  • Stay abreast of current employment law and any upcoming changes that may impact the workforce and ensure compliance with legislation and revise HR policies and procedures as needed
  • Amplify OakNorth’s values with the objective that all individuals are living them at all times 


  • Mid to senior level experience across multiple areas of Human Resources/People Operations 
  • HR business partner experience working with leaders and cross-functional teams across regions
  • Ability to think on your feet with excellent judgement and decision making skills

  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as collaborate well across regions and functions
  • Outcomes driven, capable of producing data-driven insights that lead to better business/commercial decisions
  • Preference for prior experience in a start-up environment, in technology and/or financial services industries
