Our technology stack consists of Rails and Java apps running PostgreSQL and HBase DB on Heroku and AWS. Our MVC architecture relies on REST APIs to connect internal building blocks and external systems. Some of the development and platform tools we use include jQuery, Backbone, Solr, Redis, RabbitMQ, Braintree, Papertrail, New Relic and Mailgun.

We're looking for a Senior Performance engineer with interest and experience in the performance of complex software systems, to be the performance SME in an agile team developing web and mobile based software. The ideal candidate has the breadth of knowledge of modern web technology stacks (front-end, back-end, server) to guarantee a good user experience even under high traffic conditions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive awareness of performance related techniques and issues within the development team implementing the Workable platform.
  • Develop performance tests plans and strategies in conjunction with new software development
  • Develop and acquire performance testing tools and frameworks, implement test software to be used for acceptance.
  • Execute exploratory testing and acceptance of new features/release as part of a story-driven Agile development process
  • Serve as advisor to development teams on how to enhance performance
