Senior Political Correspondent

BuzzFeed is recruiting a senior political correspondent to join our fast-growing politics team, based in BuzzFeed’s parliamentary office.The successful candidate will be given a large degree of freedom to break stories and undertake investigations while also working for one of the leading online news companies.

 This is a senior role and the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record of breaking original stories. We encourage applications from experienced journalists who are looking to join the lobby for the first time, although a working knowledge of UK politics is required.

This job will not involve rewriting press releases or chasing clicks. It does require ambition and experience of reporting complicated stories on the internet.

You will be expected to bring in original scoops on a regular basis, understand how to make them go viral, and work hard to influence the political agenda.

In addition, we want you to be adventurous and have fun while helping to build a politics team at a fast-growing company that values experimenting with new ways of reporting stories. 

The job will involve working closely with the political editor, head of news and editor-in-chief.
