Senior Project Manager - Design and Construction


We are looking for a reliable Senior Design and Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for scheduling, budgeting, organization and implementation of projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
  • Retain architects and manage their work
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Ensure a reasonable, realistic, budget is developed and maintained
  • Coordinate with Pivotal technology and security teams
  • Manage bidding/award of the general contract
  • Negotiate terms of agreements and draft contracts
  • Ensure that the contractor is properly insured and bonded
  • Review construction work progress
  • Conduct and/or attend construction meetings with contractor and architect
  • Prepare project status reports
  • Anticipate challenges to project and resolve/mitigate risks
  • FFE design assistance for space programming, development of bid package, procurement/vendor selection, and installation. Coordination with and oversight of architect to ensure all FFE scope is covered
  • Review and approve/reject change order requests
  • Respond to RFI’s from architects
  • Review submittals for general conformance with construction documents
  • Proactively communicate with Senior management on all design and construction issues
  • Manage vendors. Develop and manage budget and financial controls of vendors


  • Experience in construction management
  • Understanding of the construction process
  • Schedule development and management - Microsoft Project
  • Budget Development
  • Ability to understand/administer contract documents
  • Familiarity with construction management software
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deliverables
  • Knowledge of building products and construction details
  • Excellent time management
  • Cross functional relationship building
  • Leadership Skills


  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field preferred
