Zearn is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to conduct mixed-methods research on the most effective strategies for maximizing Zearn usage in districts across the country. As a Senior Research Analyst, you will manage end-to-end execution of Zearn's implementation research, in partnership with Zearn’s Research Manager, and act as a thought partner to design Zearn’s implementation research strategy. This research includes quantitative analysis of usage trends from backend data, methodological design of research on Zearn’s Implementation Playbook, collection and analysis of data from Zearn coach and trainer notes, school site visits, and in-depth interviews related to implementation of Zearn. You will also collaborate with multiple stakeholders to create research that will generate relevant and actionable insights and ensure implementation strategy aligns with research findings.

What This Role Will Do:

Collaborating on research design:

  • Working with stakeholders across the organization to define research agendas and create data-collection strategies;
  • Partnering with Research Manager on the design of methodologically robust projects to study patterns in implementation.

Owning execution of research:

  • Creating tools for data collection;
  • Collecting and organizing data from diverse sources: usage, interviews, field notes, etc.;
  • Cleaning the data and conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Facilitating continuous improvement across Zearn:

  • Translating research insights into actionable recommendations to continuously improve implementation and support all kids to love learning math;
  • Facilitating data-driven inquiry and collaboration for Zearn coaches and other on-the-ground implementation staff;
  • Generating and delivering presentations of outcomes;
  • Supporting data-driven design of implementation strategies with multiple stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • 3+ years experience in mixed-methods research design and execution including regression analysis, longitudinal analysis, survey design, in-depth interviews, focus-group facilitation, and observation in schools;
  • Hands-on experience with education data and/or school implementation a plus;
  • The ability to support cross-functional teams and on-the-ground practitioners in data-driven inquiry;
  • An understanding of best practices in both quantitative and qualitative research and the strengths and limitations of each;
  • Experience using Stata and ATLAS.ti strongly preferred;
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with an ability to translate research findings to technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Master’s in relevant field of education, social science or data analysis; Bachelor’s with equivalent experience acceptable;
  • Humility, a team-oriented mindset, and an eagerness to roll up your sleeves and dig into tactical work;

Location:

This role is remote, but you may be asked to travel as needed for business or team building purposes.
