Senior Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Work in an agile environment with a team of engineers to create products and services, and enhance existing solutions and workflows
• Develop clean, high-quality code and automated tests to verify its operation
• Deploy solutions independently and provide technical recommendations to the team
• Organize and collaborate across teams in Brightcove to scope and deliver new functionality
• Provide operational support for Brightcove applications
• Adopt a team player approach by doing what needs to be done, cheering each other on, and celebrating success

Qualifications/Experience

• 4+ years of back-end software engineering
• Experience in PHP
• Experience with NodeJs and/or GO is strongly preferred
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and/or other RDMS
• Experience with REST and API design
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Positive attitude with an open mind to learning new ways of working and collaborating - team player with determination and innovative thinking
• Demonstrable experience developing, deploying and supporting scalable back-end services
• Experience delivering and supporting high scale SaaS services leveraging public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices
• Familiar with continuous integration and deployment infrastructure for services is a plus
