Gladly is searching for a Sr. Staff Accountant to partner with our accounting team. We are an early stage company, so this role requires excellence in many areas of accounting, including corporate accounting, assist with payroll administration and other areas within the accounting function.

Our Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

  • General accounting: AP, AR, G/L, etc.
  • Play key roll to ensure accounting close duties are done in an efficient timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements and Executive dashboards
  • Responsible for the monthly close including developing calendars to ensure corporate deliverables are identified and achieved
  • Post accrual and correcting journal entries, where necessary
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing and adjusting journal entries
  • Responsible for ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed within communicated timeline
  • Responsible the timely completion of all debits and credits assigned to them for the successful completion of the month-end close
  • Responsible for FSA benefits reconciliation on a weekly basis
  • Assist in revenue billing and accounting related activities including tracking contracted sales, billing our clients, and booking recognized revenue.
  • Booking and tracking revenue and expense accruals on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis
  • Assist in the financial reporting process for internal management reporting
  • Assist in Improving the accounts payable functions by helping evaluate processes and implementing changes
  • Review expense reports and reconcile credit card transactions
  • Opening mail and scanning invoices into google shared folders
  • Support processing of accounts payables and coding of invoice
  • Research and analyze AP issues as they develop
  • Assisting with enforcing appropriate internal control procedures
  • Administrative duties, including correspondence to vendor and customer inquiries and interacting with Gladly employees
  • Assist in the payroll process on occasions
  • Maintain fixed assets ledger
  • Assisting with treasury activities as appropriate
  • Work with business teams & Corporate functions to help improve financial results and efficiency
  • Recommend workflow modifications to streamline accounting close process
  • Support financial audit planning, fieldwork and report preparation
  • Assist with the day to day activities of corporate compliance, such as various tax and regulatory filings and other corporate compliance
  • Participate in special projects as required

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Integrity and high ethical standards are critical
  • 3+ years hands on and increasing levels of Accounting & Finance experience in a fast paced, start-up environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to accept ownership and drive issues to a solution
  • Experience with ADP as an admin & FSA Management
  • Significant experience with accounting issues facing an early-stage startup
  • Significant experience with accounting and expense tracking software required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and ownership skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritize workload in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly results-driven with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Must be a self-starter and quick learner with the ability to deal with ambiguity, rapid change and strict deadlines
