The Team:

In this role you will report to a Tax Director and be based in Madrid.  This function is part of the wider Finance organization at Celonis.

 The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager (m/f/d) Global Tax Reporting in Madrid, reporting to the Tax Director, to manage the preparation and documentation of EMEA income tax compliance and global transfer pricing.  As a Senior Tax Manager, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, the ability to work well with various business partners and functions and be highly organized with the ability to pay close attention to detail.  This role will also assist with various components of the global income tax provision preparation, review of VAT filings, tax audits and expansion into new jurisdictions.

The work you’ll do:

  • Manage the preparation of EMEA income tax compliance working closing with third party service providers and a variety of teams within Celonis
  • Compute global transfer pricing adjustments and manage preparation of global transfer pricing documentation with third party services providers
  • Maintain transfer pricing agreements and monitor the operations of the business to support tax planning and compliance with transfer pricing regulations
  • Prepare technical tax research memos and clearly communicate technical concepts to various users
  • Maintain tax records, returns and audit-ready documentation of responsible filings
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory tax accruals and components of the global tax provision
  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase overall efficiency of the compliance process
  • Assist with the day-to-day tax operations of our growing business
  • Partner with business leaders, tax, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on various business initiatives and tax planning

The qualifications you need:

  • 8+ years general corporate tax experience within global multinational and/or public accounting with experience in EMEA income tax compliance
  • Experience with operational transfer pricing
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize and meet deadlines; ability to work in a cross-functional and with cross-border teams in a fast-paced, complex, global environment
  • Sound judgment and ability to effectively communicate recommendations regarding tax issues
  • Familiar with tax accounting and international tax issues relevant to position preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Degree in Taxation or similar
  • Professional experience in Excel
