Woven Planet Holdings, Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, was founded in March 2018 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation with the original company name "Toyota Research Institute-Advanced Development, Inc (TRI-AD)". for the purpose of creating innovative technology and advanced safety systems that will enable Toyota’s vision, “Mobility for All.”
Effective January 2021, it expanded and improved its operations into a holding company, two operating companies and the investment fund.
The holding company is Woven Planet Holdings, Inc. (Woven Planet), the two operating companies under it will be Woven Core, Inc. (Woven Core) which will develop, implement and scale automated driving technologies at its core, and Woven Alpha, Inc. (Woven Alpha), which will explore new business opportunities and incubate innovative projects that go beyond today’s Toyota, such as Woven City, Arene, Automated Mapping Platform, and the investment fund, Woven Capital, L.P. (Woven Capital).
At Woven Planet, we’re on a mission to design a happier planet through secure, connected mobility solutions. Founded in 2021, Woven Planet’s vision is “Mobility to Love, Safety to Live”. Under this shared goal, our three companies Woven Core, Woven Alpha and Woven Capital are transforming how people live, work, and play through new innovations and investment in autonomous vehicles, smart cities, robotics, and more.
THE PLATFORM & THE TEAM
Automated Mapping Platform ("AMP") is a developer platform that offers all the building blocks for a highly accurate and realistic representation of Earth's insights. These insights are available as services and features within those services to create, develop, and distribute high definition ("HD") maps and many other AD/ADAS and Smart City solutions.
Using AMP, developers targeting Smart Mobility and Smart Cities solutions can leverage the freshly extracted features and intelligence from multiple sources. Various AI & ML enabled tools and modules allow to build solutions either on AMP platform using robust pipeline infrastructure or integrating into customer's pipeline through APIs and SDKs.
AMP's unique data acquisition approaches using satellite, exclusive partnership, and probe data from Toyota vehicles ensure affordability, global coverage, and freshness of high-quality data. AMP has multiple toolsets to help customers fuse their dataset and Machine Learning models with AMP's purpose-built models. Ultimately, AMP brings the best of cloud computing with machine learning development to spatial intelligence.
AMP is built using a decentralized model that brings cloud computing and open-source concepts to creating, developing, and distributing HD maps. Like cloud computing, customers can consume shared HD maps built on shared computing and storage resources rather than using a typical map provider that creates, produces, and updates maps using proprietary hardware and software. We call this Open map computing.
Your colleagues will be from Customer Success (a.k.a sales/pre-sales), Product Management, Engineering (range of technology), and Quality Assurance. The AMP is a diverse team with multiple nationalities located across the globe, primarily Japan, India, and the US. We pride ourselves on diversity. We honor and respect the difference each AMP member brings. Once agreed, we wholeheartedly commit.
