About the role
We are a growing team of researchers who work directly with product design to reimagine OpenTable. We are ready to add to our team and we are looking for someone with broad skills in qualitative and design research methods and a desire to develop hybrid insights. In this role, you will directly shape the mobile and web applications that millions of people use to find, reserve and experience restaurants. Thus, you will be influencing the experience people have dining out across North America and beyond. About You
You are an excellent communicator and knowledgeable about user experience design. Your passion lies in helping colleagues understand people’s motivations, experiences and latent needs to impact the future of an organization such as OpenTable. You bring insights about people by a variety of methods, both qualitative (emphasis) and quantitative. You can hear questions and turn them into a research plan, using the appropriate methods to gain meaningful insights. You have ability to design studies that address user behavior and attitudes. You fuel ideation and evaluate designs through understanding usability. You can then share your findings with designers, engineers and others in order to make the team smarter and the product better. You also have the following:
- MA/MS in HCI, Psychology, Social Science or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in applied product research.
- Empathetic, human-centric approach to analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
- Strong ability to communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.
