Senior Visual Designer

Thoughtworks is looking for a talented visual designer to join its highly creative and high performing global marketing design team that is responsible for creating Thoughtworks’ new visual identity in-house. 

As a marketing designer with Thoughtworks, you will work on global and regional campaigns, producing social media, digital marketing, assets for our website and designing printed promotional material using our Thoughtworks branding. Your background in visual communications and graphic design will be key to your success in this role.

About you

You will be a designer who has a passion for visual communications through imagery, typography, information design and understands the importance of consistent adherence to Thoughtworks brand identity.

You will love working with others towards a common goal and thinking creatively to deliver innovative solutions to a range of audiences.

You will be creative and have hands-on experience of managing and creating original, high quality design assets for all channels. 

You will be happy to jump in and help out when we need design assets turned around at short notice. You will be someone who proactively comes up with creative ideas and approaches that will deliver more impactful results.  

It would also be a bonus if you had both agency and in-house experience to draw on

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Working closely with our global marketing teams to capture requirements for marketing campaigns
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
  • Being a confident communicator who can explain the thinking behind design concepts and presenting finalised ideas to our internal stakeholders;
  • Working with a wide range of media, including photography and illustration;
  • Contributing ideas and responding to new opportunities;
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly software such as Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Dreamweaver;
  • Being an evangelist for the brand and educating relevant teams on design best practices 
  • Collaborating with, guiding and motivating team members
  • Collaborating with international team members and appreciating cultural differences
  • Identifying target audience preferences and creating creative to meet them
  • Working as part of a team with other designers, writers, web developers and marketing specialists.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills

 

  • Graphic design or visual communication qualification
  • At least five years experience working in visual communications or marketing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign etc) to deliver artwork for campaigns, communications, events and presentations
  • Experience with creating documents in Google docs, Word, PowerPoint and Keynote

 

Professional skills

  • Illustration skills
  • Basic photography skills
  • Basic video production and editing skills would be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working with a very diverse range of internal stakeholders to develop and produce impactful creative
  • Also need to be able to say ‘no’ to stakeholders if appropriate
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a virtual team
  • Comfortable presenting plans and results to cross-functional team members, including senior executives
  • Fluent in English
