SMB Account Executive

Lob is building a suite of APIs for the enterprise. Our most popular API is our print and mail API that enables companies to send physical mail as effortlessly as sending emails. We are growing our customer base and product offerings quickly and are looking to build a team of commercial account executives to help accelerate the growth of Lob.

The commercial account executive is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities by responding to inbound inquiries from a variety of channels and through outbound calling activities. The right candidate is a person who works well under pressure, thinks outside of the box, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and is highly self-motivated. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a company’s needs and personalize the outreach to each prospect specifically.

The commercial AE will become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects, acting as the initial point of contact. This role will be primarily focused on researching the Target Accounts in your territory and performing outreach through emails, calls, and social media. You will have the opportunity to be closely mentored and professionally developed by sales leadership.

As the Commercial Account Executive, you’ll…

  • Qualify opportunities through a strong discovery process 
  • Experience managing a pipeline to close revenue while forecasting accurately
  • Communicate prospect needs and interests to an account team of Account Managers, CSMs and SEs.
  • Provide in-depth information to the Sales team to enable productive demos
  • Research and evaluate additional leads/prospects through web research
  • Meet or exceed assigned outbound prospecting quotas daily/weekly/monthly
  • Work collaboratively with SDRs and demand generation to close inbound leads
  • Source opportunities through outbound outreach and prospecting
  • Maintain all contacts/opportunities and record all progress in Salesforce

What will you bring to this role…

  • 1+ year of proven performance in full cycle selling as an SMB AE or ISR
  • Have a consultative approach to sales
  • Proven track record demonstrating strong articulation of product selling points via phone and email
  • Ability to assist in coordinating sales functions including prospecting and research
  • SaaS/API knowledge is a plus
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to deal with rejection
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with active listening skills
  • Ability to develop rapport, influence others, and maintain strong working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical features and challenges clearly to a business/ non-technical audience
  • Must be self-motivated, persistent, and able to work independently
