Software Engineer, Cloud Services, Core Alerts Platform

The MongoDB Cloud Services Team is a diverse collection of individuals working together to help our users run MongoDB in the Cloud at global scale. The Cloud Team is responsible for MongoDB Atlas - our database as a service offering and fastest growing product. MongoDB Atlas allows users to deploy fault-tolerant, globally distributed MongoDB clusters in just minutes.

We're seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to join the Cloud CAP (Core Alerts Platform) team. The CAP team's mission is to provide platforms that serve all of our Cloud products and can meet the scalability needs for all of our customers. Our responsibilities include an events platform that enables auditing of both system and user driven events across every MongoDB Cloud application, as well as an alerting system that allows for monitoring and reporting of abnormal conditions.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has at least 3 years of professional experience building full-stack web applications
  • Has extensive experience developing backend systems (Java, C#, Go, Node.js, etc.)
  • Has extensive experience with a modern JavaScript environment
  • Is eager to solve tough problems in a distributed systems environment
  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Is curious, collaborative, empathetic, and intellectually honest

Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to large sized projects from specification to production
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and mature our best engineering practices and core concepts
  • Self-manage your project and non-project work, maintaining the balance between accomplishing goals with research & development
  • Own our core values and adhere to them in your work
