RealScout is hiring a

Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Philadelphia, United States
Full-Time

Thousands of real estate agents have chosen RealScout to help convert $20 leads into $10,000 commission checks. We amass hundreds of data points on every single property, track buyer preferences and behavior, and expose analytics and insights to agents so they can appear super-human to their clients.

We're backed by Joe Lonsdale (Palantir founder), Ken DeLeon (2012's #1 Realtor) and several others - $7m to date [1].

ABOUT THE TEAM

We value continuous improvement and having fun [2]. We have a small team focused on shipping great product and being the #1 engineering team in real estate. We believe in sharing knowledge - whether it be through pair programming, speaking at and attending meetups, holding weekly Lunch & Learns, or Hack Days every other Friday.

We're open source across the stack - ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python (with Caffe, TensorFlow, Pandas, Celery, ...), ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, AngularJS - and welcome new technologies that best fit the problem at hand.

ABOUT YOU

You laugh in unstructured data's face. You're able to suck in data from messy sources, whip it into shape, and build a consistent API for other engineers to relish in. From CSVs, REST APIs and SOAP to Solr/Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Kinesis, and Redshift - you love it all. You can import and process data like no other: from design to implementation to scaling.

At RealScout, you'll take our property search infrastructure to the next level. You'll help scale out our ever expanding feature-based attributes including ones that no one else in the industry has like "stainless steel appliances" to "near Google shuttle stops". You'll be the brains behind building out a scalable import and processing data pipeline as we expand into additional real estate markets wrangling hundreds of searchable attributes across millions of properties.

NEXT STEPS

We'd love to hear from you with a resume and note about how you see yourself fitting in on the RealScout team [3]. Feel free to mention any online presence you may have (Github, Twitter, Stackoverflow, etc) and provide links to any of your open source projects, blogs, or anything else you think helps convey your interests and abilities.
