We are looking for a Data Ops Engineer with strong SaaS and cloud services experience. You will be responsible for building and operating all aspects of our cloud-based data architecture with a focus on automation and tool development to achieve our vision of infrastructure as code.

This is a high impact role in a fast paced organization that runs on the most cutting edge cloud based infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with software engineers to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, adhere to security best practices, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, staging, and production environments.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work within the data engineering team to build new products and extend existing ones by adding new features
• Support existing infrastructure and enable the cloud development to scale applications
• Design and implement features using sound engineering practices
• Have input to company policy and best practice for security
• Collaborate with other product teams to ensure good cross-product cooperation
• Fix bugs and help the support team answer technical questions
• Develop continuous integration tools and processes that streamline testing & deployment of large-scale systems
• Develop automation scripts, daemons, and APIs to reduce operational overhead
• Actively participate in team engineering processes, with the view of continuously lifting quality
• Help with project planning by providing accurate estimates for tasks
• Stay up to date with relevant technologies, balancing risk with effort and helping engineering identify opportunities to use the best of what’s new

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 2-4 years’ commercial Data Ops experience, preferable with AWS
• Work with our development and operations teams to support application builds, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines
• Automate and support a scalable cloud infrastructure using services such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and Snowflake
• Enhance monitoring and alerting that spans across development and operations
• Strong understanding of security best-practices
• Bring a growth mindset to every task - sharing ideas and opinions with an attitude and appetite for improvement; the ability to challenge, pursue outcomes and take ownership of tasks in a collaborative environment
• Highly developed, process-oriented skills for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Great interpersonal, team playing and “can do” attitude. Uncompromising will to learn
