Software Engineer, Front End

San Francisco, CA

PlayStation is looking for a Software Engineer to help build our next generation technologies. Are you ready for a rare opportunity to deliver high quality, thoroughly tested code at one of the world’s most recognizable brands? We’re doing really cool things with web technologies like React, React Native, and more to keep PlayStation the #1 gaming platform in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and craft solutions for JavaScript-based components and applications for the PlayStation ecosystem.
  • Own features, analyzing design and building for testability, scalability, and performance.
  • Work independently and collaborate with other engineers on your team as well as external team members.
  • Exercise your feature building capabilities and collaborate within your team to optimize existing solutions as well.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3-5 years professional software development experience
  • High level of proficiency in customer facing UI Development (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript)
  • Experience collaborating with multi functional partners, especially with product, design, and server engineering
  • Domain proficiency in performance optimization or comparable areas within your current field
  • Experience with Windows application development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with SPA/front-end frameworks such as React, React Native, or similar
  • Experience in C++ with applied knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Experience with restful APIs/related technologies such as GraphQL
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
