Software Engineer, Geospatial Data Analysis

Summary & Responsibilities

Our Airware Cloud team is looking for an engineer who will be responsible for writing image- and data-processing algorithms. You will collaborate with the Airware Cloud team to incorporate these algorithms into our products, so our Fortune-500 customers can make smart decisions for their businesses based on aerial data. Our ideal candidate authors highly performant code with an emphasis on quality and execution time.

Sample Projects:

  • Rapid georectification and orthorectification of sensor data acquired from commercial drones
  • Image stitching, mosaicing, and color balancing
  • Data visualization
  • Sensor fusion (satellite, aerial, drone) for analysis and change detection algorithm development
  • Setting industry standards for image quality and metadata

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in professional software development
  • Knowledge of image processing algorithms/techniques (satellite, aerial or drone imagery, 3D reconstruction)
  • Familiarity with open source imaging libraries (GDAL, OSSIM, OGR)
  • Ability to optimize algorithm execution time (profiling, parallelism)
