Our software engineers are experts in building new cloud applications and migrating legacy systems to the cloud. Our custom software solutions are based on Continuous Delivery - a set of processes and tools based on a combination of Lean and the heavy use of automation.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be part of a team working on one of Nortal's premier projects. This team is focusing on building a custom (highly visible application)
  • Use your knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations
  • Diagnose, fix, and coordinate deployment of bug fixes (and do this quickly in emergencies)
  • Understands system interactions and architecture, but may not be able to define new architectures
  • Remain flexible and put customer needs first
  • Comfortable contributing in technical and project-based discussions with the client and other Nortal consultants
  • Create software to automate deployment of applications to production environments
  • Ensure code quality practices are being met and mentor other developers on these practices (if applicable)

Your qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience, software engineer
  • Java is your main language, but you may be familiar with other languages and frameworks
  • Hands on experience using AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure cloud platforms (or similar)
  • Experience and/or strong understand of CI/CD processes
  • Experience with containers (ex. Docker) and at least one cloud platform
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
