Meet the team:

High-performance solutions need highly-skilled engineers to develop them; safely moving a vehicle through the real world brings significant challenges. The best robotics algorithms that can perfectly solve any scenario must still operate within the constraints of the hardware they run on. Real-world performance is what distinguishes a product from a good idea. We are collaborators by nature; we build the processes, workflows, tools, and architectures to help our industry-leading autonomy teams meet those performance challenges.

What you’ll do: 

• Design, implement, and test applications and infrastructure for debugging and engineering performance
• Build developer and operations tooling for large-scale analysis of performance trends
• Build developer and operations tooling for fine-grain analysis of performance metadata
• As a member of the onboard performance and code health team, work with and alongside teams who write the code that runs on-vehicle, as we help them to do more with less

What you'll need to succeed:

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
• A strong desire to collaborate with others and to identify and advance common goals
• 7 years of work experience writing modern C++ and Python solutions for OS or embedded systems applications and tools
• Substitute a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Software Engineering, for 4 years of work experience
• Fluidity with or comfort quickly learning modern C++ (C++11 - C++20) concepts is a must
• Minimum of 3 years writing C++ applications or libraries and 2 years writing Python applications or libraries

Nice to haves:

• Experience with dashboard technologies like Looker or Grafana
• Experience with big-data technologies like PySpark
• Deep knowledge of computer architecture and optimizing software to run on it

Our Background:

Argo AI was founded in late 2016 by industry experts with extensive experience building robotic systems for commercial applications.
