We are searching for backend developers to work on our premier live streaming platform. Our customers rely on our video expertise to reach millions of viewers every year, and the features and scale we provide drive engineering challenges that are diverse and deep.

The Livestream platform team focuses on the services -- from APIs to background workers to operations -- that tie all our clients together. They handle the scale required to successfully serve massively popular events. They tackle the needs of a highly customizable product by breaking down tasks and shipping constantly. This team is also the breeding grounds for our growing expertise with video distribution and ongoing forays into devops and cloud infrastructure.

A successful candidate will have some prior experience building web services, and exposure to agile methodologies. They will emphasize software quality and strive to improve our engineering culture.

  • Write, deploy, and maintain web services that tie together the platform.
  • Participate in the process — review code, consider feedback, and iterate.
  • Solve problems across the entire stack.


  • Experience with web services.
  • Preference given to familiarity with our stack: JavaScript/Node.js, Scala, Java, Ruby.
  • A penchant for testing.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, including pair programming, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the open source tools of the trade, e.g. Redis, Varnish, MySQL, etc.
  • Prior work with the cloud, either AWS or GCP, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
