Software Product Marketing Manager – Mass Spec

We are looking for a product marketing professional to join the fast-paced Mass Spectrometry Software Marketing team! This is your opportunity to join the team that's bringing differentiated new Mass Spectrometry software products and solutions to the life science and applied markets to help our customers increase their productivity. As a member of this high-performing team, you will provide leadership to the product marketing group whose mission is to further advance the success of their LCMS and GCMS software and solutions portfolio within the highly competitive mass spectrometry market.

You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the mass spec software product portfolio and execution of the go-to market strategies that your team develops. We need a leader with interpersonal skills who can be a highly effective mentor for the team and work collaboratively with peers across a matrixed organization.

To accomplish this, you will have the responsibility to:

Develop the team of product marketing managers, applications scientists and other team members responsible for Agilent's full portfolio of mass spec software

Lead projects to conduct market and competitive analysis to define trends and strategically evaluate new market opportunities and identify Mass Spec products and solutions that can enhance customer workflows.

Drive customer collaboration and advocacy including Voice of Customer (VOC) programs in the team leading to innovative customer focused products

Work with the Mass Spec R&D team to effectively meet new product introduction goals

Lead the product pricing strategy, product messaging, and positioning to ensure optimum financial performance versus business goals for current and future products using market knowledge and feedback from customers.

Partner with cross-functional leaders within Agilent including marketing, R & D, manufacturing, and sales to achieve business objectives.

Work with marketing communications professionals to develop the global plan for lead generation programs.

Lead the development of a sales training program that enables the sales team to clearly position Agilent's mass spec software products and explain their benefits to customers.

Experience in working with worldwide customers and as a strong internal advocate for customer-focused solutions.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

Ability to travel world-wide; 20% travel required.



Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree required. Masters or Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field highly preferred.

2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mass spec product management/ marketing

3. 5+ years’ practical experience with LC/MS or GC/MS instrumentation and applications preferred

4. Proven track record of setting portfolio strategies and driving a profitable business

5. Ability to set priorities based on alignment with business goals and strategic direction, define timelines and deliver to commitments.

6. Proven ability to work collaboratively with sales and marketing professionals across the organization to develop effective market

7. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
