Solutions Engineer

Summary of Role:

The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing and implementing innovative applications for our customers. Quickly building proof of concepts, clarifying the products requirements at an early stage, delivering solutions that scale based on standard and highly customized core components.

The Solution Engineer will work with:

  • The Professional Services GIS team: to automate data processing workflows, build scripts that run in the backend.
  • Our Enterprise customers: to explain to them how the Airware APIs work and connect their infrastructure with the Airware Aerial Information Platform.
  • Solutions Managers: to architecture solutions, and develop components either as  plugins, or backend scripts to automate workflows.
  • Customer Engagement Managers: to support them in the delivery of conceptual designs
  • Design when implementing user interfaces

Sample projects

  • Build a GCS plugin to build advanced flight plans for an oil and gas plant inspection.
  • Build a data viewer in the Airware cloud to display time-series of fused visible and thermal data.
  • Build a Cloud plugin to perform corrosion detection analysis on flare stacks and generate reports.
  • Automate workflows to perform QA on data
  • Attend workshops with customers, plan and execute API integrations

Necessary Skills and Experience

  • Experience with cloud infrastructures: Google Cloud platform, Amazon, Roku, Azure
  • Degree in Computer Science
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving ability and ability to learn new technologies/concepts
  • Extensive experience in mixed-technology environments, including enterprise-level infrastructure
  • Ability to quickly understand customers’ complex technical architecture/infrastructure
  • Comfortable in a customer-facing role
  • 3+ years of related professional industry experience
  • Experience in a high-functioning Scrum environment
  • Fluency in JavaScript/HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge of Front-End MVC Frameworks
  • Experience interacting with RESTful JSON APIs
  • Sensible testing methodology
  • Familiar with code reviews
  • Experience distilling customers requirements with APIs
