Sprig is looking for a line cook, however, this line cook position is a bit unique in the sense that you will likely be cooking little to nothing. Your main responsibility (not sole responsibility) is to:
Plate the prepared food to chef standards and make it look gorgeous EVERYTIME. Taste the food and constantly audit if what you are working with is top quality.Communicate with team members in a clear and succinct manner regarding needs and shortages. Keep a clean station at all times, which includes the floor.Ask for help when you need it. We have a lot of resources and are capable of making adjustments frequently especially if it will help drive the quality.Keep yourself busy. We have gone through a pretty hefty restructuring phase and there are slow points throughout service. But if you know anything about the restaurant industry, you know that there is always something to be done.
We desperately need "food people" who love food just as much as we do and can tell the difference between bad, good and great. With an emphasis on great.
Appreciation for food.
Professional line cook experience is preferred, but not a deal breaker. Imagine this position as a slightly more dynamic Garde Manger station.
Positive attitude. This cannot be stressed enough.Flexible schedule. However, once we agree on a schedule we generally don't change it much.Self-discipline and self-care. We will always ask you to put yourself and your family first. Our ask is that we are your third life priority.
Valid CA Food Handler's Card.
