About the Opportunity:
During this time of significant growth, MLT is seeking a detail-oriented professional adept at aligning financial processes with business strategy. The role is highly collaborative, working across all MLT teams to address budgeting, forecasting, and analysis while aligning finances to the overall strategy. An essential aspect of the role is to provide leverage for our finance leadership team: the successful candidate is a quick learner who grasps core issues, provides meaningful insight and critical analysis, and digs in to engage staff and help them understand and act on financial issues.

***This position reports to MLT’s Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and is a Contract to hire position.***


  • Understand the various components of MLT’s business model and help manage the annual budgeting and ongoing reforecasting processes, providing visibility into cash flow, expense management, and revenue growth.
  • Perform precise, concise, rigorous analysis and provide strong financial and business decision support on numerous revenue and marketing initiatives, return on investment analyses, product pricing, or other assigned projects.
  • Contribute to the development of new tools such as a budget template, expenses tracker, and other important spreadsheetsContribute to the development of cost models that analyze expenses and make compelling business cases for organizational and programmatic initiatives.
  • Closely monitor revenue renewals and related cash flow streams to anticipate MLT’s position relative to forecasted targets; actively communicate status and work with Finance & Development leadership to ensure timely and effective action is taken.
  • Ensure that MLT financial procedures are comprehensive and compliant, and support current program activities and future program growth.
  • Collaborate with peers on MLT’s Marketing team to help produce an MLT annual report, telling the organization’s financial story through visual imagery that both educates and strengthens the MLT brand.
  • Support the production of annual board and ad hoc fundraising presentations.
  • Act as a resource for the Accounting function, assisting with the audit requirements, collaborating with staff, and engaging in other ad hoc opportunities.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, with a foundation in / profile of cost accounting 
  • Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to engage with all levels of staff to understand business models, and recognize opportunities for analysis and recommendations.
  • Critical organization skills and tactical focus, with exceptional attention to detail and sound business judgment.
  • Strong relationship management skills, and the ability to negotiate/persuade for results with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated tolerance for ambiguity; a fluid, dynamic thinker who can process information in real-time and adjust/move forward as necessary.
  • Strong results orientation and sense of urgency. Grants management experience is a plus.
