JOB DESCRIPTION

Quanergy is Inc. is a privately-held Silicon-Valley-based technology company leading the development of 3D-LiDAR sensors and smart sensing solutions for real-time 3D perception, including object detection, tracking, identification, classification and mapping. We are disrupting the LiDAR space, and accelerating the growth of the IoT ecosystem with more affordable, better performing, and smaller LiDAR sensors.

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for PCB design used in our LiDAR sensors as well as internal development/product purposes. The candidate will work with other electrical engineers, optical engineers, and mechanical engineers to meet their needs for R&D/product development activities in the company. The candidate must be motivated to work on PCBs and be able to work independently with minimum guidance.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own entire design cycle of PCB from requirements to testing to production
  • Document specification and requirements of PCBs
  • Design and review board architecture
  • Design and review board schematics
  • Simulation and analysis
  • Manage layout
  • Manage board suppliers if needed
  • Test and debug
  • Perform failure analysis and root-cause determination

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • The candidate must have enough knowledge and hands-on skills to test electrical and optical hardware. These skills include:
  • Experience in developing advanced electronics; specifically, electronic circuit design, schematic capture, PCB design, design for manufacturability, sourcing, integration, test, and debug.
  • Experience with OrCAD design suite.
  • Expert in analog/digital mixed circuit design.
  • Experience with signal integrity concerns and methods for evaluating them
  • Experience in simulation software and analysis
  • Experience in layout of densely populated PCBs
  • Experience in latest SoC/FPGA and PCB design requirements
  • Experience in power management circuit design for reliable operation and low power consumption
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and characterization of PCBs
  • Experience in PCB fab and assembly process support
  • Experience in firmware is plus
  • 7+ years of professional experience in electronics industry
  • Proven track record in achieving results in a fast moving, dynamic environment strongly desired
  • Advanced hardware knowledge and skills are plus:
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in automotive industry
  • Experience in board design FMEA
  • Familiarity with board reliability
  • Familiarity with ISO documentation

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • MSEE with 5+ Years of Relative Experience
    BSEE with 8+ Years of Relative Experience
  • MSEE with 5+ Years of Relative Experience
