Sr. Manager, Sales Development

Refinery29 is hiring a Senior Sales Development Manager to spearhead best-in-class packages and creative solutions for brand partners.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a cross-departmental effort to streamline and package concepts from development to the sales shelf, including but not limited to:

    • Video-first concepts, multi-media and edit packages, P&E first offerings, seasonal proactive branded content offerings, tentpole event offerings, emerging platforms

  • Collaborate regularly with operational and creative leads on video, content, events, talent, and finance to execute strategic goals and objectives

  • Understand the creative, identify integration & sponsorship opportunity for brands, create content layers, identify pricing of goods and pricing of overall offering

  • Possess an understanding of marketplace needs and develop relationship with sales leads to inform packaging strategies

  • Establish success metrics & KPIs for brand partnerships

  • Work closely with social discovery and media counterpart to identify delivery guarantees

  • Ensure teams are properly armed with a compelling sales pitch that supports the concept and delivery levers

  • Create clear and concise sell sheets that outline the available opportunity and supporting P&L + sample plan

  • Brief Sales & Client Service teams on ongoing new offerings and provide above mentioned supporting materials

  • Increase feedback loop through bi-weekly updates to stakeholders on selling progress, brand feedback, seller priorities

  • Create a tracking system that allows us to analyze data and insights on what sells to better inform our R&D process

  • Partner with co-horts and boss to identify a scalable process, roles and responsibilities and templates

  • Build evergreen sales materials to expedite the pre-sale process

  • Work with SVP Operations to identify process efficiencies across pre & post sale

  • Work with finance to continue to optimize P&L and pricing and align tracking efforts


Qualifications:

  • Five years of relevant experience at a relevant publisher

  • Passion for media, marketing and branded content with a finger on the pulse of marketplace trends

  •  Expert at Keynote presentation design skills 

  •  Solid excel and pricing modeling expertise

  • Must have exceptional communication, collaboration, and attention to detail skills

  • Must thrive in a face-paced environment and have the ability to forge relationships with stakeholders across the company
