Sr. Software Engineer - Real Time Communications

As a Senior Software Engineer - Real Time Communications at Twilio, you will be a key technical contributor to Twilio and support the next phase of Twilio's platform and APIs.

About the job:

  • Make significant architectural decisions and work with teams on high performance/high availability distributed systems.
  • Participate in the design and architecture of software solutions and build high performance, scalable, server-side technologies using open-source technologies.
  • Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage.
  • Work in a professional software engineering environment with source control, dev/stage/production release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related plus 2 years experience as a Software Engineer or related, OR:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related plus 5 years' experience as a Software Engineer or related.
  • 2 years experience developing and scaling complex distributed systems based on Java, C++ or .NET technologies, building enterprise/cloud systems with VoIP protocols (e.g. SIP), REST and/or WebSocket and designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining production systems (cloud or installed).
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
